BSC2019: Lake Geirionydd and Llanrhychwyn Chapel (Saturday 10:00)

3 people waitlisted
An easy-going, scenic day walk from the campsite with a paddle/swim stop for those brave enough.
We'll walk from the campsite up through the forest to get magnificent views of the hills of Snowdonia, visit an 11th Century chapel right out in the fields, meander along the edge of Lake Geirionydd, where we will stop for lunch and for a paddle in the event of warm weather (there are toilets here but no shop). Our way back is a gradual descent through ancient woodlands.
(A walk on Sunday also visits lake Geirionydd, but via a different route)

What to bring
You'll need walking boots, walking trousers (jeans are ill advised), a day rucksack, a waterproof/windproof jacket (depending on forecast), a packed lunch and water.
In the event of sunshine - sun protection and swimming trunks/small towel for those brave enough.
In the event of cold/rain - waterproof overtrousers, hat, gloves.
You may want to bring a mat to sit on for lunch.
Food & drink
Bring food and drink for the duration of the event (we will not be passing any shops). I suggest a few snacks, a packed lunch and at least 1 litre of water. If the weather is cold I like to bring a thermos of tea/coffee too.
