BPW24: Water-Cum-Jolly dale - 16km - (Sat 10:30)

2 places left
This event is part of the Outdoorlads 2024 *BIG Peaky Weekender* and participation is intended for those attending the weekend event.
Starting on the Monsal Trail we'll head along the tunnel to arrive at Monsal Head with outstanding views from the railway viaduct. We will descend down to follow the River Wye along the bottom of Monsal Dale before a fairly steep ascent to be rewarded with glorious views along Monsal Dale.
Once on the hilltop, expansive views will be had in all directions. Eventually we come to the hilltop above Miller's Dale, with more lovely views of the scenery below. Descending the hillside again we take the Monsal trail briefly to enter into Millers Dale. Here we will have a short pit stop an the Angler's rest.
After rehydration we will continue along Millers Dale past Litton Mill to walk alongside the particularly scenic Water-cum-Jolly Dale, more like a Yorkshire Dale than one to be found in Derbyshire. After that highlight it's back to the Monsal Trail and a flat easy return to Thornbrige Outdoors.
