This event is part of the Outdoorlads 2023 *BIG Peaky Weekender* and participation is intended for those attending the weekend event.

This walk will be at a leisurely pace and we will set out from the hostel and descend into Ashford in the Water, then across the A6 for a gentle climb up to the remains of the 18th century Magpie lead mine near Sheldon. Here we take a short break to look around the site and information. We ascend to the highest point (342m) near to the summit of Bole Hill then down into the village of Over Haddon.

From there we descend into Bakewell for a leisurely one-hour lunch break. You have the option to bring your own packed lunch to eat on the riverside recreation ground, or lunch at one of the many cafes and restaurants in the town. Tarts and puddings optional! There are many shops and places of interest in Bakewell.

After lunch we will regroup to walk the Monsal Trail back to base.
