Distance is 10 miles (16 km); total climb is 1397 feet (426 m); terrain is dramatic Derbyshire Valleys at its best, but mostly flat apart from couple of strenuous inclines; surfaces are mainly well made tracks, walked earth paths, grass.

This event is part of the Outdoorlads 2023 *BIG Peaky Weekender* and participation is intended for those attending the weekend event.

Millers Dale is a beautiful valley and small village on the River Wye in the Peak District, Derbyshire. The famous Monsal Trail runs past Millers Dale and it’s a popular location for walking, surrounded by scenic woodland hills and limestone crags.

It is a relatively flat walk with a couple of climbs and will take us through a very lovely part of the Wye Valley. Starting on the Monsal Trail through the tunnel we'll soon have Monsal Head behind us and Monsal Dale to left with outstanding views from the railway aquaduct. Soon after we will leave the Monsal Trail to the particularly scenic Water-Cum-Jolly Dale. From there you will stay on the riverside path through Cressbroook Dale and Cramside Wood

Into Millers Dale with beautiful steep sided hills to either side and on to the pretty little village of Litton Mill.

After seeing the Mill we will rejoin the Monsal Trail for a while on route to the Anglers Rest.  After some refreshment we'll head up through the Millers Dale Nature reserve through High Dale and back along the top of Monsal Dale.  Walking down the path into Monsal Dale we'll Face Monsal Head before going back through the tunnel on our return to Thornbrige Outdoors.
