BPW23: Deepdale and Magpie Mine (Sat 10:15)
31 people attending
0 places left
This event is part of the Outdoorlads 2023 *BIG Peaky Weekender* and participation is intended for those attending the weekend event.
Starting at Thornbridge Outdoor Centre, we will head up the Monsal Trail to Monsal Head with stunning views over the valleys to the west. We then descend to Monsal Dale, following the River Wye to Deepdale where a short climb brings us to the pretty village of Monyash. The village green will be our lunch stop where you can eat your packed lunch or grab a snack and a drink from the pub or the adjacent Old Smithy Cafe.
After lunch our route takes us mostly downhill. We will stop off at Magpie Mine, a well preserved historic disused lead mine, which is a protected scheduled monument. There will be a further optional pub or tea room stop in Ashford in the Water, from where it is just a short walk back to Thornbridge.
IMPORTANT! - Participation Statement
You MUST complete a Participation Statement, in addition to booking your event space before attending an OutdoorLads event. You only need to complete this Participation Statement once, not for each event you attend.
