BPW23: Bakewell ParkRun (Sat 08:00)
12 people attending
13 places left
This event is part of the Outdoorlads 2023 *BIG Peaky Weekender* and participation is intended for those attending the weekend event.
Monsal Trail ParkRun (aka Bakewell) is the closest ParkRun to where we will be staying.
The 5km run starts at Hassop Station, Bakewell and is a linear, out and back route along the Monsal Trail.
To compete in a ParkRun and get your official time, you will need to have registered with ParkRun to receive your all important barcode. You will need to bring a hardcopy of this barcode with you, I always keep mine in my phone case.
You run at your own pace, don't be scared that you may be slower than other people, you get to enjoy the view while they run past. I'm slow anyway but it's the getting up and doing it that matters!
It is an early start 8:00 meet to walk or cycle the 2.5 kms along the Monsal Trail which goes past Thornbridge, to Hassop Cafe. I will leave without you if you're late. You can drive and meet us there if you prefer, the parking is pay and display and you still need to be early as they get huge ques for the parking machine!
We will have a bacon butty at Hassop Cafe following the run.
If coming along on the ParkRun, you will be extremely hard-pushed to get back and ready for any event leaving at 10.00am or earlier. There are multiple events spaced throughout the day.

A spare layer may be useful for when waiting around prior and after the event.
Food & drink
It is only a short run in the scheme of things. Hassop cafe sells bacon sandwiches, perfect for an after run treat.
