Bovey Green Man to Lustleigh

Come and experience one of the oldest and quirkiest May Day Dartmoor festivals, before a relaxed walk along the valley to Lustleigh - one of the most picture postcard villages of England.
This quite crazy festival features walking vegetation (aka Green Men) and the most eclectic morris dancing from Punk Rock, Goth, to traditional.
After spending about 90 minutes seeing some of the parade, morris dancing and Green Men around town and visiting the stalls, we will start the walk to Lustleigh going past Parke (National Trust).
The walk follows a disused railway line to the beautiful chocolate box village of Lustleigh, where we will have lunch, before returning to Bovey via a very slightly hill different route. The walk is 8 miles in total but not too arduous and is largely flat, with some lovely views of the lush valley.

There are lots of stalls in Bovey, but actually we will walk to Lustleigh. In Lustleigh you are welcome to eat a packed lunch. The majority will probably eat at the gorgeous Primrose Tea Rooms, and there is the Cleave Inn for pub grub. We will allow an hour for lunch so as long as you are efficient, you can order some food and relax
