12km, 6 hours, 876m Total Ascent

We kick off July with Ben Ledi which offers great fun and views with slightly less effort than many other mountains.

The ascent is mainly on good paths with steady slopes and with plenty of opportunities to take in views. After gaining height, a broad and gentle ridge leads to and from the summit with return via first a broad glen and then forest paths with an impressive waterfall to see on the way.

Ben Ledi is a 879m high Corbett, with the start point at 119m giving 760m of total ascent. It is the highest in the Trossachs and is an imposing feature on the skyline of Callander, just 7km to the East.

This is an inclusive event and no-one will be left behind. You will ideally have walked previously at low level over distances of between 10 and 15km.

Please see What to Bring for the essentials in terms of Scottish weather gear and whilst a ridge route should have some element of breeze, don't forget the midge juice, they're already in season.
