Walking from Beaulieu, along the Beaulieu River, passing through Bucklers Hard, once called Montagu Town. Originally built for the sugar trade with the West Indies, but more famously as a dock yard for the Royal Navy. Where ships were built from New Forest Oak mainly during the Napoleonic wars. Following on from here, we head south and then west towards Lymington mainly on lanes. Cutting up by Sowley Pond we will then start to get back into the heathland and moors of the New Forest, circling round and ending back up in Beaulieu. See the route here.
