Arboreal Delights - alas no men in tights in Wendover woods

9 places left
Lovely walk through the woods near Wendover in Buckinghamshire. Hopefully we will experience the last of the autumn colours that have been fantastic this year. We will begin the walk in the pleasant market town of Wendover and then follow a combination of the Ridgway and Icknield Way into the surrounding broadleaf wood eventually arriving at Aston hill with its plaque to the designer of the Aston Martin Car. From there we will make our way into Wendover woods (overseen by Forestry England) where there is a cafe a "Go Ape" section and the remains of an ancient Hill fort. We will then return to Wendover by a route from where we can see the scar in the land from the HS2 construction and complete the walk in one of the many pubs in the town.
Is it dog friendly?
Dogs are welcome on the walk, but please abide by the Countryside Code (https://tinyurl.com/rlqvp3h). Please also remember not everyone loves dogs as much as you do so please be mindful of other members.
