#GetOutMore this April!
This event is one of loads of events taking place over the same weekend! Check out all the events over the weekend of 4-6 April 2025: OutdoorLads.events/APR25. Great for new and regular members!
What is squash? It’s a fun racket sport in a four-walled court using a rubber ball. The aim is a play a shot that your opponent can’t return, using the walls to create tricky shots to make your opponent work. For a bit more detail here’s a link to Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Squash_(sport)
I’ve never played squash. Can I come along? Absolutely, this event is mainly for anyone who has never played, but anyone who has played before and is a little rusty is also welcome.
I’m in, what do I need?
Non-marking trainers - you will be playing on a wooden floor, so we can’t have trainers that leave marks.
Sportswear - typical gym gear is fine. Anything that’s not heavy as you need to have free movement and you’ll probably be getting hot and sweaty.
A squash racket if you have one, though don’t worry if you don’t as you can hire one at the venue for £2.25.
If you wish to wear eye protection you will have to bring your own as there is no option for hiring them.
After playing squash We’re planning on heading somewhere for a coffee/lunch if anyone wishes to join.
Anything else? If you’re interested and want to know the rules and how to play, here is a YouTube video that explains the game. https://youtu.be/Km5TMstbE34?feature=shared

Any advice given should be considered with this in mind by the recipient.
All those attending the event must also be aware of the centre's own terms and conditions of participation and abide by them, along with any instructions given by the centre’s staff.
