Join OutdoorLads for a walk with plenty of history on the Welsh border.
Waitlist: If this event is fully booked and you want to attend, add yourself to the waitlist, because places often become available closer to the date, and chances are you will get a place.
Points of interest on the route:
Offa's Dyke - We start by walking along the western edge of Llanymynech Hill which formed part of Offa's Dyke and has been the scene of thousands of years of activity.
Llanymynech Rocks Nature Reserve - the walk continues into a former limestone quarry which is now a nature reserve.
Llanymynech Limeworks - We descend down the former incline to the Lynymynech Limeworks, famous for it's Hoffman Kiln.
Montgomery Canal - our return leg along the unrestored section of the Montgomery Canal.
Wat's Dyke - coincidentally the canal forms part of the Wat’s Dyke long distance path, another earthwork that parallels Offa’s Dyke.
Other Information:
Dog Suitability:
Dogs are always welcome on my walks, though their behaviour and safety is their owners responsibility.
