Linear walk along the Angus Coast between Carnoustie and Arbroath

We start our walk immediately opposite Carnoustie Railway Station and follow the path along the coast before we detour slightly inland for a short distance to cross over the railway at the outskirts of Carnoustie. The path soon heads back to the coast where we continue our walk along a cycle path, passing the old fishing village of East Haven.

Our walk continues along the coastal path and after a few miles we approach the West Links and then on into Arbroath, passing the Signal Tower and the harbour en route.

If time permits and for those interested there is the option of making a visit to Arbroath Abbey at the end of the walk.

Transport

As this is a linear walk, it has been timed to fit in with train times at both the start and finish.

Carnoustie Station, arriving at 1030 (from the south) and 1014 (from the north)

Arbroath Station, departing at 1525 (for the south) and 1536 (for the north)

Other train times are available - see Scotrail website for full timetable options.

Car parking is available near Carnoustie Station.
