Almondell and Lin's Mill Aqueduct

Join us for a short Saturday afternoon walk of around 8 miles around Almondell Country Park and along a short section of the Union Canal towpath.
Our walk will be based on the route shown on the Walkhighlands website, but modified slightly to make it more public transport friendly. The walk will all be on well surfaced paths or minor roads and is particularly suitable for novices and dogs.
We will meet at the location as marked

What to bring
As this is a low level walk, mostly on good surfaces, you won't need any special equipment for this walk. Just come prepared for all weathers with waterproofs and an extra warm layer in your rucksack and wear shoes or trainers that you don't mind getting muddy if parts of the route are wet underfoot.
Food & drink
There is a cafe at the visitor centre in Almondell Country Park, at which we can stop for refreshments, but it would be an idea to carry some food and drinks with you to keep you going throughout the walk.
