Day Sail: An Introduction to Sailing

11 places left
Embark on an unforgettable sailing experience aboard the 72-foot CatZero, a state-of-the-art ocean-going racing yacht. This exhilarating day trip is perfect for anyone seeking adventure and a taste of the maritime life.
Our day will begin meeting the CatZero team, who'll welcome us with breakfast sandwiches and a hot drink, setting the tone for a fantastic day ahead. After a comprehensive safety briefing, we'll be actively involved in manoeuvring the yacht out of the dock and into the open waters of the Humber.
Under the guidance of experienced CatZero crew, we'll all have the opportunity to learn essential sailing skills, from handling the sails to steering the vessel. We'll work together as a team to execute manoeuvres like tacking and gybing, and even participate in a man overboard drill (weather permitting).
The highlight of the day is the Hawk Sailing Challenge, where we'll compete against each other to navigate a course, earn points, and showcase our newfound skills. As we sail back to Hull Marina, we'll reflect on our accomplishments and the camaraderie we've built over the day.
All necessary equipment, including life jackets and wet weather gear, is provided.
If you enjoy this day sail, we are likely to repeat the currently fully-booked 2025 Dutch Dash in 2026. If you have any questions before you book please feel free to contact the event Leader.
Here's an article about one of CatZero's recent "Dutch Dashes", where you can also learn about the remarkable charity, bringing about positive change in peoples' lives.

This is taken from the CatZero site:
We do our best to cater to all dietary requirements, but can’t promise that food will be free of allergens as it is all cooked in a relatively small environment. That being said, we will always strive to prepare accordingly when provided with enough notice. For example, if someone is coming on board who has a severe nut allergy, we will ensure that there are no nuts on board, and that there is a deep clean of the galley before the sail.
On a mixed voyage we can’t guarantee that we’ll be able to supply any halal food, but we will always be able to ensure that vegetarian food is available.
