Retail Therapy - A Walk from Ikea Giltbrook

A walk rich in industrial heritage near to thousands of homes but yet very green. Easy to reach on public transport but you very quickly find yourself in an oasis for wildlife claimed back from our industrial past.
The walk is certainly much better than a romp round Ikea and the many shops here, but if you must your afternoon is free to pickup any Christmas shopping you may need. Why not join us for Breakfast at Frankie and Benny's followed by a great walk that takes in the old Nottingham Canal, viaducts, watertowers, a section of the Robin Hood Way and old windmills.
What to bring
I always prefer comformtable hiking boots, but you can get away with a pair of trainers on this walk. The terrain can be muddy along this route, so at least wear footwear that provide enough grip. Also it is December, so warm clothes and water proofs will be needed.
Food & drink
We'll be meeting outside Frankie and Benny's at 9am for Breakfast, after that the walk will only take a few hours so you'll perhaps last through for a late lunch after the walk. Do bring plenty to drink the walk has some decent hills in places.
If you wish you can meet us at 10am after Breakfast, but please let me know if this is what you're doing so I know to wait for you.
