A wonderful weekend of walking and great company in the Northumberland countriside.

Cragside was the home of William Armstrong, Victorian inventor and one of the most successful industrialists of his generation. Situated 1 mile north of Rothbury and 12 miles west of Alnwick, Cragside is now cared for by the National Trust.

Staying in the bunkhouse (comfortable but basic) the plan will be a moderate weekend of walking followed by some good hearty food and a few drinks.

On sunday there will be the opportunity to visit Cragside House described as an extraordinary Victorian house, gardens and woodland - the wonder of its age
