Ben Venue is Gaelic for The Miniature Mountain, which is a perfect description for this 2300 foot high mountain in the heart of the Trossachs. A great hike for everyone, whether this is your first mountain or your 100th!

The start point for the walk is only 1 hour's drive from Glasgow, 1.5 hours from Edinburgh. We will start from the Forestry Commission car park at Loch Achray, from where the path leads through forests of birch and pine, giving us great views of Loch Achray and the summit of Ben Venue ahead. Once out of the forest we will hike up across rocky moorland, eventually reaching the summit, from where we should get fantastic views across the Trossachs and beyond.

After conquering our miniature mountain, we will find some well-earned refreshment in a nearby village.
