A day of woodland skills and general outdoor happieness on the edge of the Lake District National park.
We will spend the day in a mature woodland garden and meadowland which overlooks some of the the lake districts icconic fells and those of the yorkshire dales too. The plan for the day is rather loose, but we will mostly be building paths, making fires, chopping logs and helping manage the woodland. There will also be opportunity to have a go at some green wood carving, using a shave horse (hopefully using a pole lathe, if i can get it built) and doing some knife work too.
It will be a busy day, so come prepared to break a sweat and to get your hands dirty! Also be prepared to have a lot of laughs and to learn some new skills too. Plan is to do some campfire cooking!
At the end of the day those that want to are welcome to stay to enjoy the long summers evening around the campfire while we watch the sun go down over the fells (and likely have a jar or two). And if you want to make a weekend of it I'll be running a short day walk up Lambrigg fell on the Sunday morning so why not sign up to both?
Oh and dogs are very welcome!
