This walk explores Climping Beach, a quieter area of coastline than its neighbours of Littlehampton and Bognor Regis. Much of the area is now designated of scientific interest, and parts are a nature reserve. Many sections of the sand dunes are now fenced off to protect against erosion and help local species to thrive.
The actual beach is exposed and struggles with coastal erosion and can change it's appearance between visits. A great place to base a coastal walk as at high tide there is pebble and grass banks whilst at low tide flat hard compact sand of the beach.

Halfway around we will stop for a drink/meal at the Black Horse Inn climping BN17 5RL (no website) just inland (see Food and Drink). We will try to be as quick as we can (but not rushed) to ensure we are back before nightfall or at least on well defined or lit paths/roads.

See "Summer On the South Coast" tab below for more summer midweek events in Sussex.
