If Ben Venue (2392ft) is known as the miniature mountain, its easterly neighbour, Ben A'an, at a mere 1491ft, could perhaps be described as microscopic! However in spite of its modest height, it sits in a commanding position overlooking Loch Katrine and Loch Achray and if conditions are clear the views across the Loch Lomond and Trossachs national park are stunning! With a good path most of the way to the summit, the walk up and down should take us little more than 3 hours - just enough for a great little Christmas Eve winter warmer!
