Loudon Hill (East Ayrshire)
5 people attending
7 places left
Join us for an easy walk in the upper Irvine valley to the small rocky summit of Loudon Hill, popular with rock climbers.
Starting in Darvel, birthplace of Sir Alexander Fleming, our walk will follow a former railway trackbed eastwards before climbing onto the summit at 316m.
After hopefully enjoying some fine views over Lanarkshire, Ayrshire and towards Arran, we will retrace our route back to Darvel.
The path along the old railway may be overgrown in places, so if it has been wet, please wear trousers you don't mind getting a little wet or wear overtrousers to keep your legs dry!
What to bring
If possible, please aim to have something to eat beforehand and bring a snack and some water with you for during the walk.
If time, we may go for drinks at the pub in Balmaha afterwards.
