Hostelling in the Heart of the South Lakes
30 people attending
0 places left
As the Autumnal sunshine fills the sky, we will be out enjoying the glory of the Lake District from the shores of Coniston and Windermere to the mountainous areas of the Langdale Pikes and beyond.
Join us at Hawkshead Courtyard, a perfectly situated hostel in the heart of the Cumbrian lakes with the added coolness of being accessible by a chain car ferry across Windermere (you don't have to take the boat of course).
Fancy walking or maybe we can get some cycling or mountain biking on the cards, then this place is ideally situated for most of what the lakes has to offer.
OUR ACCOMODATION
The hostel is a Regency style building, in a glorious setting overlooking tranquil Esthwaite Water.
All bed linen is provided but don't forget to bring your own towels!
A lounge at the front of the Youth Hostel provides comfy seating for around 20 people and this can be opened up to join one of the dining rooms to create a larger, open plan social space.
There is also a games room that can seat up to 15 people with a TV, juke box, quiz machine and a pool table. Wif-Fi is available at this property which is free of charge for guests to use.
There are extensive grounds at YHA Hawkshead, including a veranda and a large lawn at the front and woodland towards the back.
There are shared toilets and showers and three of the rooms have their own en-suite shower.
There is central heating throughout.
DOUBLE BEDS!
The hostel has three double beds as part of the total number of places available this weekend. We have taken a gamble that we may have 6 people that could share these three beds. If you are attending with your partner/husband etc or dont mind sharing with a friend then please let the leader know.
In doing it this way, it has allowed us to keep the cost of the event down.
What to bring
