Celebration Weekend 2017: The AGM (35792)

Event Overview

Celebrate everything about OutdoorLads at our 2017 Annual General Meeting. This is much more than just an official meeting to complete the legal obligations of the charity - this is a chance to see what we've been doing for the past year as well as a preview of our plans for the future.

You also get a chance to ask your questions in open forum to the Board of Trustees and review the financial performance of the group.

Celebrate everything about OutdoorLads at our 2017 Annual General Meeting. This is much more than just an official meeting to complete the legal obligations of the charity - this is a chance to see what we've been doing for the past year as well as a preview of our plans for the future.

But most importantly, this is about bringing our Members together for everyone to share in their experiences of what OutdoorLads means to them. Whether you've been a Member for ten years or have just joined we are all part of something amazing so let's make it a great celebration weekend.

Why Bristol?

Bristol is a wonderful destination for a weekend away. An ancient port city the centre is focussed around the old harbour with a huge range of shops, attractions, restaurants and bars.

But the city has a fantastic history. A walk along the harbour, past old cranes and re-furbished dock buildings (now home to galleries, cafes and museums) to the The SS Great Britain is a must. ‘The ship that changed the world’ is a fantastic attraction and well worth getting on board.

If you fancy a longer walk head past the old university building, through the leafy, trendy suburb of Clifton to the Downs and another of Brunel’s feats of engineering genius - the Clifton Suspension Bridge.

The AGM is a chance for newTrustees to be formally elected to the Board of Trustees. If you are interested in standing as a Trustee then please email peter.walter@outdoorlads.com to find out more.

Alternatively, have you thought about being an event leader? Being a leader is an incredible way to give something back to OutdoorLads.  Check out our Leader Application page to get more information.

AGM Supporting DOcuments

You can read the draft version of the minutes from the 2016 AGM along with all other governance documents here.

Once the current financial year has ended and the accounts have been audited, these will be available to view in advance online. Please note that, to help protect the environment and save money, there will be no paper copies available on the day so if you want to have a paper copy with you, you'll need to print it out at home in advance.

Closer to the time, we will publish information on any Trustee that is standing for election/re-election along with their respective manifestos.

WHat else is going on this weekend?

We have an exciting plan of events coming together for the whole weekend including day walks, indoor climbing plus some socials and a meal/drinks on the night of the AGM.

Keep your eyes peeled here for links to the events as they go live.  Recommendations and suggestions are welcome of course, please email danny.mckeown@outdoorlads.com with ideas.
