The Penmachno trails have the perfect mix of single track descents & forest climbs (with a few technical climbs thrown in for good measure!). We will take the route at a reasonable pace to ensure everyone has an enjoyable day. Lunch will be on the trails so make sure you pack something to bring with you.
You need to have a good level of fitness for this event and you should feel confident on a bike and should have been mountain biking before. This event is unsuitable for complete beginners. Please message the event leader if you're unsure or have any questions.
The Penmachno Trails are remote with some very exposed sections, which can become challenging in poor weather so please carry adequate spares, clothing, fluids and foods.
A short drive is required from the camp site to the start of the trail - where possible please car share on the day as parking is limited.
Essentials to ride:
1. A helmet!
2. A fully functioning mountain bike (suspension at the front as a minimum)
3. Water (1.5-2L), Lunch & Snacks
4. Weather appropriate clothing
5. Spares & tools for your bike (inner tube etc..)
