Birmingham afternoon Ale Trail (39176)

Event Overview

Come along to Birmingham city centre and enjoy a day walk with a difference. 7 miles, 10 real ale pubs and bars and over 150 real ales to choose from. 

Over the course of a relaxed afternoon and early evening, we will have the opportunity to take in the sights of Birmingham's city centre, Jewelry District and canal side whilst enjoying a wide range of ales in cool bars, traditional pubs and one or two more unusual locations. 

This is a fun, relaxed day out which is ideal for all and a great way for you to catch up with members new and old. 

The day will start at New Street Station and end in Birmingham's gay village...

This is a fun, relaxed day out which is ideal for all and a great way for you to catch up with members new and old. 

The day will start at New Street Station and end in Birmingham's gay village (adjacent to the station) to allow ODLers to either go home or carry on their evening at the end of the event. 

Itinerary

 

We will meet outside New Street Station at 1300 and from there enjoy a 7 mile walking tour of the city, during. which we will take in the City Centre, Jewelry Quater, Convention Quater and the Gay Village. 

Over the course of a leisurly afternoon we will take in up to 10 real ale pubs and bars, each selected for for their uniqueness and range of ales. 

The trail will finish at Equator on Hurst Street - home of the Birmingham ODL socials. Should you wish to carry on your evening in the Gay Village Equator is an ideal place to start, and for those heading home New Street Station is an easy five minutes walk.

Food & Drink

No need to bring your own food and drink on this event  - you will have plenty of opportunity to get all you need in the real ale venues we will visit.

Please ensure you have shoes suitble for a seven mile, city centre walk. 

Please also ensuure you have a waterproof coat and money for any food and drink that you may want to consume.
