Event Overview

Budding Ben Ainslee? Future Sir Francis Chichester? Start here with a basic introduction to dinghy sailing!

Join Fergus for a training session in the basics of dinghy sailing (led by fully qualified RYA Instructors). Budding Ben Ainslee? Future Sir Francis Chichester? Start here with a basic introduction to dinghy sailing!

Join Fergus for a training session in the basics of dinghy sailing (led by fully qualified RYA Instructors). This is suitable for complete novices or people returning to the sport - but I trust any more experienced sailors will come along to help build the group. It will focus on key skills for controlling a dinghy and basic safety.

The course covers basic sailing techniques, essential theory and use of equipment . All sessions are under the direction of suitably qualified instructors. The course may contribute to RYA 1. Future sessions may focus on completing RYA Level – sailing a greater variety of dinghies or even a river trip.

All those taking part must be confident on, in and around the water and must wear a buoyancy aid at all times which will be provided by the centre along with all other necessary equipment.

Two sessions will be necessary to complete RYA L1. The first session is on May 20th. We have records of everyones previous visits to the centre.
