Want to explore rivers and estuaries in a canoe? Or paddle down rapids? Well, it all begins here!
Join Fergus for a traing session (led by a fully qualified BCU Instructor) in the basics of canoeing/kayaking. This is suitable for complete novices or people returning to the sport- but I trust any more experienced paddlers will come along to help build the group.
It will focus on key skills for controlling a canoe/ kayak and basic safety. It is also part of two part programme which will include a river trip (date tbc).This will work on skills for BCU 1& 2 Star Award. 2 visits to the centre plus one river trip should cover both syllabuses.You need to attend two centre sessions plus a river trip to cover the syllabus. We keep a record of all attendances and skills covered.
What to bring
Bring a towel , change of clothes and shoes you dont mind getting wet. A warm layer may be wise. Splash proof clothing will be provided.
Food & drink
Please bring a packed lunch. Tea and coffe will be provided
